Renewal Is Here

Many of you probably would never notice but this New Moon News is about few days late! I'm going to share why it's late because I think it would be helpful for others who may have been feeling like they may be going crazy with duty lol! Overwhelm was literally creeping in from every direction, with two major moves, a slow and not so steady salon build-out, together with the sudden loss of someone incredibly dear to me is when it all became too much...I felt like I was drowning in one never ending loop of a bad I Love Lucy episode. This awful feeling forced me to pause, take a hard look at my habits and question whether they truly aligned with my purpose. The weight of it all made me pivot. I took a step back from social media, work, and most forms of communication so I could reset. In that quiet space, I turned to sound bath therapy to calm my mind and soothe my nervous system and every night I would lul myself to sleep by imagining the yuck melting away while thinking about all of the good and amazing things that happened in my day. I then woke up curious about what new andwonderful things would take place throughout the day. I deep-cleaned my home, decluttered, and reorganized to create a sense of peace in my surroundings that mirrored the clarity I was working to restore within myself. Most importantly, I gave myself the time to simply be, to reconnect, to breathe through it all while simply existing. It wasn’t easy...it was actually quite awful and lead to some very uncomfortable but necessary conversations. And now, I’m stepping forward with renewed intention and a sense of clarity that I didn't realize I was missing.
Wellness Tip Of The Month

This month I'd like to focus on avoiding burnout. Unfortunately burnout is something that we all experience and I am all to familiar with it recently. So here are a few tips to help navigate burnout this spring.
1. Set Realistic Goals: Break your tasks into manageable parts and set achievable goals. This helps in reducing stress and improving focus.
2. Prioritize Self-Care: Make time for activities that rejuvenate you, things that you actually like. This could be anything from exercise to an at home spa day, meditation, hobbies, or simply resting...I mean honestly sleep the day away if you need to.
3. Stay Organized: Keep a schedule or planner to track tasks and deadlines. Being organized helps reduce brain fog, unwelcome surprises and anxiety. There are actually free apps that help keep you on task I use one called Structured.
4. Take Regular Breaks: Step away from your work regularly throughout the day to refresh your mind. Short breaks can significantly boost productivity, creativity and help prevent an embarrassing meltdown.
5. Establish Boundaries: Learn to say no and mean it! Set clear boundaries and stop overcommitting yourself to things you have no interest or time for. Some tasks and responsibilities aren't yours to worry about.
6. Stay Connected: Maintain a support network of friends and family to share your feelings and relieve stress. Many times all you need is someone to share the happenings of your week with, and I don't mean a trauma dump session something more like sharing your wins so they can be celebrated and your lessons so they can be sighted up.
7. Sleep Well: Ensuring you get adequate sleep each night is key to a calm mind. A well-rested mind and body are more resilient to stress and helps your body function better as a whole including your metabolism.
8. Limit Screen Time: Excessive screen time and doom scrolling can lead to fatigue, anxiety, depression, ect. So as important as setting boundaries with others is you also have to be mindful to draw clear lines in the sand for yourself and you devices. And maybe that bag of chips too lol!
By incorporating these habits into your routine, you can help prevent burnout and maintain a healthy much more chill life.
New Moon Yummy

Spaghetti With Chorizo and Clams
4 to 5 dozen small littleneck clams, 4 tablespoons olive oil divided, 1/2 pound chorizo casings removed, 1 cup finely chopped white onion, 5garlic cloves pressed or finely chopped, 2 tbsp red pepper flakes, 1 cup vodka that you like to drink, 1 teaspoon sea salt or to taste, 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons tomato paste, 1 teaspoonhoney, 1 pound spaghetti, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves, 2tablespoons chopped parsley leaves
Rinse and scrub the clams under cold water, making sure they are closed and unbroken. Discard any that aren’t closed. Drain well. Heat a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chorizo, breaking it into smaller pieces, and fry until it begins to crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the chorizo and place on a paper towel lined plate. bring a pot of heavily salted water to a boil and add closed clams. Add olive oil to the rendered chorizo fat and reduce the heat to medium. Add the onion and cook, stirring often, for a couple minutes until softened. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for a minute, until the garlic is fragrant. Add the vodka and tomatoes, add the salt, and once it comes to a simmer, incorporate the drained clams, tomato paste and honey.
Remove the lid and transfer the clams using a slotted spoon into a bowl, including the ones that may have fallen from the shells. Raise the heat to medium-high and continue to cook the sauce for 6 to 7 minutes, so it strongly simmers and a lot of the alcohol evaporates. Stir well, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring once in between.
Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 9 to 10 minutes.
Remove about 3 dozen clams from their shells and discard those shells. Remove the lid from the pot with the sauce and incorporate the cooked chorizo, shelled clams, and the clams still in their shells. Mix well. Strain the spaghetti and add it to the sauce. Toss until it is coated. Transfer to a serving platter or individual bowls and garnish with the parsley and cilantro and serve.
